Danish Mid-Century Modern Yin-Yang Teak Round Oval Dining Table Denmark
c. 1960's
Danish Modern "Yin-Yang" round or oval teak pedestal dining table with sculptural leaves by furniture designers Ole Gjerløv-Knudsen and Torben Lind. Made by France and Son furniture company. Has also been referred to as the "China Table" and the "Comma Table."
Crafted of rich natural teak and made of three interlocking comma-shaped leaves that pivot and lock together. A black lacquered triangular piece fits in the middle of the leaves when all are fully installed. When the third leaf is removed, the leaves pivot to form a perfect oval of the famed "yin-yang" design. France and Sons metal plaque on bottom of tabletop.
Please note that the camera flash makes the leaves appear slightly uneven in color. This is not the case in person.
